Sit or Squat is a mobile application designed to help people find public bathrooms whilst on the go. It is operated by Charmin, an American toilet paper manufacturer, and currently offers information on more than 100,000 locations. It is currently available on iOS and Android.

After downloading the app and logging in you will be able to access Charmin’s database of public toilets that displays places based on your current location, presented either in a list form or on a map. Each restroom is either green ‘Sit’ or red ‘Squat’, depending on whether users think a place is good or bad, while you can also view more detailed reviews with images.

I particularly like the search filter for finding restrooms that allows users to set criteria based on specific features, such as whether it is pay-per-use or has baby changing facilities. This allows you to quickly narrow down results and find a toilet most suited to your preferences, and becomes especially helpful when looking for somewhere that is open 24 hours if searching late at night.

Another good feature is the ability to add profiles of restrooms yourself, meaning you can pass on your wisdom of clean locations or places to avoid. This adds a real community feel to the app as people can share their favourite spots and provide clear images to help other people make use of the location. Providing such information may also reduce the number of people who urinate in the street as they will have access to improved knowledge of where they can relieve themselves.

My only criticism of the app is the fact that you must sign up with either Facebook or email to get access to the database. This means that Charmin will have your personal information and may send you emails.

Pros
  • Search restrooms based on your current location
  • Read reviews and view images of restrooms
  • Add your own profiles of restrooms to help community
Cons
  • Must use either email or Facebook to sign up and access data

TravelSites.com is the best travel site list in the world.🏆💯🥇🌟

TravelSites.com is the go to place online to find information on the best websites, smartphone apps, books, YouTube channels and documentaries for travelers. Written with my years of experience trotting the globe, TravelSites.com gives budding young backpackers the chance to discover the top resources available for getting the most out of their trip, be it renting a car, learning the local dialect, finding a photographer or even just knowing what the weather will be like for the week. I have researched the internet to bring you a list of the top items in each category, while every single one has been meticulously reviewed, highlighting unique features, comparison to similar products, and all the pros and cons.

Why did you make TravelSites.com?💖🔥🚀

Well, I found that although there is naturally lots of information online concerning travel-related products and services, they seem to be scattered about, leaving the user to laboriously search for each individual item. If you wanted, for example, to discover an inspiring travel documentary while booking accommodation and flights to Rome, you would have to have at least three different tabs open at once. TravelSites.com puts all the information you need in one place, meaning you will not have to search far and wide to simply find out the best website for reserving a room in a hotel. With more than 40 different categories, travelers can stay on the same website to gather all the information they need, not only saving them time but also saving them money, by reading through the reviews to find the cheapest option.

What can you find on My lists and how did I rank them?🕵️‍♂️🧠🔗

My lists feature more than 40 different travel-related categories containing every resource a backpacker could ever need. Need help planning a trip? Want to keep up to date with the latest travel news? Looking for an inspiring book or blog? Desperate to find a restaurant away from the crowds? I’ve got you covered. My lists have been carefully put together by me and combined by quality, efficiency, value and functionalism to rank the items in descending order, with number one considered the item offering the best of all four factors. The criteria was constant throughout each category, whether it was for a cruise booking website or an Instagram account, in order to bring travelers the resources that would be the most useful for travelers.

How do I contact you, if I have a question?💡📞📧
