Being the proud owner of a dog is not always easy when on move, with many places unfortunately not welcoming canines the same way they do humans. With GoPetFriendly.com you can easily discover the best places to go when travelling with a pet, from hotels and beaches, to restaurants and wineries.

The search option is a simple tool to use, allowing users to discover pet-friendly locations by searching City, State, Category or Name. After entering your preferences, you will be take through to a page featuring a selection of hotels, restaurants, activities, services, vacation properties and campgrounds that will all be happy to cater to you and your pet.

An inclusion that I especially like when viewing both the restaurants and the hotels is the ‘Average Price’ symbol next to each restaurant, giving an idea of the price range and the ‘As Low As’ indicator for hotels. Clicking on them will give you a more detailed breakdown of the establishment, including photos, a description, and the specific pet policy.

I also found the ‘Travel Tips & More’ section to be great for providing articles on all things pet travel, including advice for travelling alone with a pet, pet travel essentials, and help planning the ultimate pet-friendly road trip. Posts can be filtered by category to help you quickly find the topic you’re looking for.

One downside to GoPetFriendly.com is that they currently only offer resources for cities in the USA and Canada. This obviously limits the website to a great extent, perhaps making the website BringFido a more attractive option as it deals with countries worldwide. Furthermore, despite a brilliantly resourceful blog and travel tips section, there is no forum where people can post their questions to a community of pet owners, something that could make the website more encompassing.

Pros
  • Simple search tool for finding pet friendly establishments
  • Average Price and As Low As helpfully indicates price
  • Travel Tips & More offers useful advice to pet owners
Cons
  • Only offer advice for cities in USA and Canada
  • No community forum
