32 Voted are the biggest online car rental service, working with over 900 companies across more than 150 countries, meaning they have significant scope when it comes to hiring a vehicle. The homepage is simple enough, with the ability to easily enter your pick-up location, dates and times. There is also an option to tick whether you are a driver aged between 30-65, as some companies may charge more depending on whether you are an older or younger driver.

Once have filled in all the details of your itinerary, the website takes you through to a new page displaying the results of various different companies according to your preferences. Here, you can sort options by price or recommended, which combines good verified user reviews with the best prices. There are also a range of filters down the left hand column, allowing the user to choose between categories such as supplier, fuel policy, damage excess and deposit at pick-up.

I found the ‘Save for later’ option particularly useful, as when searching through multiple results it can get confusing as to what you have already looked at. Once you have chosen your perfect car, you will be shown a more detailed profile of the vehicle and given the option to book with or without full insurance.

For me, it was great being able to book directly via the Rentalcars website, as other price comparison companies often take the user through to a third-party site to make the reservation. Having everything all in one place was much better and allowed for an easier user experience.

One of the only downsides to was the limited advice about booking a rental car. Although, on the homepage, there is a Frequently Asked Questions section, this is limited and could do with more helpful information. Other than that, a very simple and efficient website to use to book car hire.

  • Cover a wide range of cities and car rental companies
  • Plenty of filters to narrow down search options
  • ‘Save for later’ option
  • Can book everything directly via the website
  • Limited information section
  • No rewards scheme
